Kathy Schommer Fargo Mom

Kathy

Kathy Schommer is the Owner and Founder of Fargo Mom. She was born and raised in North Dakota, and went on to attend the University of North Dakota for undergraduate and graduate school (sorry Bison fans!). Other than a five-year stint in Florida, Kathy has spent most of her life in North Dakota and is beyond thrilled to get to raise her children here.

Prior to founding Fargo Mom, Kathy worked in marketing and communications in various settings before making a career switch to be a social worker. In this role, she has worked in community and family services and a homeless shelter. Her current and most favorite “job” has been as a stay-at-home mom to her three young girls, fraternal twins Lucy and June {2015} and Margot {2018}, and she has been married to her husband Eric since 2011.

Kathy spends her days working from home and learning to balance life as a work-at-home mom to three busy kiddos. She is passionate about maternal mental health and motherhood and serves as a local volunteer Support Coordinator for Postpartum Support International (PSI), as well as serves on the Local PSI-ND Chapter.

Kathy loves all things crafting, attempting to read books not related to parenting, and drinking hot coffee every chance she gets. When she’s not attempting to work with her kids yelling in the background, you might find her at one of the local breweries or coffee bars in the area or attempting to find unique treasures at a local thrift store.
