With all the cool new activities this generation has available, sometimes we forget how fun some of the more simple options can be. When we were kids, Friday nights belonged to Blockbuster, the arcade, and of course, bowling alleys! And although Blockbuster is no longer an option, the bowling alleys in Fargo are still thriving. Check out some classic spots or newer lanes this weekend!

The Bowler

A staple for over 60 years, the Bowler offers deals like their “Pizza-Bowling Package” that includes an hour of bowling, shoes for up to six bowlers, large three-topping pizza, and a pitcher of pop (or beer) for $55. And with a restaurant that makes their own pizza dough and sauce, you know it’s going to be good!

Conveniently located off I-29 in Fargo, Kingpinz is the newest addition to the local bowling scene. If you’re ready to mix up your game, try their HyperBowling option, which is an interactive video-game like experience within the lane. If not everyone in the family is on board with bowling, this new fun spot also offers laser tag, arcade games, and an escape room!

Red River Lanes

After a fierce game of family bowling at Red River Lanes, check out the newly-renovated Slammers Sports Bar which offers pool, darts, and Karaoke on Friday nights! They also have Bingo on Sundays, pull-tabs and 21 HDTVs for all your sports viewing pleasure.

Sunset Lanes

A great spot in Moorhead to get your game on! With 24 lanes, an arcade and kitchen that serves pizza, burgers and fryer food, what else could you need? They also participate in the “Kids Bowl Free” program which takes place all summer long. So get your kids registered, and enjoy a fun-filled free activity!

Katina Behm
Katina grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and played field hockey at the University of Connecticut, and has never been in as good of shape since. She met her husband, Justin, at a bar in Pittsburgh and, despite many romantic Skype dates, found a long-distance relationship to be a drag and moved to Fargo in 2010. She's a bonus mom to Justin's son, Owen (2005), and they have twins Augie and Delphi (2016) and two Great Danes, Rainy and Moose. She's a Speech-Language Pathologist & Certified Brain Injury Specialist who enjoys helping her patients improve their quality of life. She is also a Certified Sculpt Instructor at Mojo Fit Studios. Katina loves showing the world to her kids (but also seeing the world through their eyes), trying new foods, listening to live music and publicly mocking her little brother on Instagram. On most weekends, you can find her at one of her kids' many activities by day, and by night on the couch in sweats, eating a homemade charcuterie board and drinking cheap wine she bought at Costco. She still has Skype dates, but now they're with friends and family who live all over the place.
