Best Stroller Paths in Fargo & Moorhead

Island Park

Address: 302 7th Street S, Fargo

Island Park is a great area in downtown Fargo with paved paths among huge trees. We have strolled in this park many times while taking the kids to play on the playground.
There is always so much to see at this park with people playing on the basketball and tennis courts while enjoying the outdoors.

Urban Plains Park

This park is located right next to SCHEELS Arena. It has great trails to go walk with your stroller on and three shelter areas in case you need a break from the hot sun. Two great playgrounds are here for your older kids too! The Garden of Healing is located within this park and is a great place to watch butterflies among the rows of wildflowers.

Timber Creek Park to Silver Leaf Park

Address: 3300 47th Avenue S to 5755 27th Street S, Fargo

There is a great trail that runs on the north and south side of 52nd Avenue. You can start at Silverleaf Park (5755 27th St S) and walk north along the trail all the way to Timber Creek Park (330 47th Ave S). Both parks have playgrounds if you want a play break before turning around!

Rendezvous Park

Rendezvous Park is a wonderful place to get out and explore on your stroller walk. There are great walking paths throughout the entire park! There is once again, a great playground for older kids to burn off some of that extra energy. My favorite place to walk is the path by the pond–it is relaxing!

Lindenwood Park

Address: 1905 Roger Maris Drive, Fargo

This park has beautiful, paved paths that are along the Red River. It is a great location to take your stroller walk and go soak in the outdoors. It has two playgrounds (one that is an adaptive playground for people of all abilities). It even has a pedestrian bridge that connects to Gooseberry Mound Park in Moorhead to get some extra steps in.

Horizon Shores Park

Address: 3801 24th Ave S, Moorhead

Located in the south part of Moorhead, this park offers great walking trails and playgrounds for the whole family. This place very peaceful and a great place to relax.

Orchard Glen

This is one of my family’s favorite places. They have great paved walking paths that are close to the banks of the Red River. My kids love all of the nature and wildlife you can see on these paths. Tip: If you have older kids, you can do a nature scavenger hunt as you stroll along the paths!

MB Johnson Park

Address: 3601 Oakport St N, Moorhead

This park is nestled close to the Red River with great walking paths. This park reminds me of Orchard Glen with all of the trees and nature. In 2021, Moorhead planted over 100 fruit trees in this park (it will take a few more years to yield fruit), but how amazing will this be once you can walk among the fruit trees and bushes.

North/South Elmwood

North Elmwood: 500 13th Ave W, West Fargo
South Elmwood: 535 13th Ave W, West Fargo

Elmwood Parks are great places to get out and go for a quiet stroller walk. North Elmwood has a great zipline if you have any older kids tagging along for your walk. South Elmwood has great double sidewalk (bike/hiking path) that makes it easier if you are passing people on the walk. There is also a playground in South Elmwood and a lot of baseball fields if your older kids still need to burn off some energy while on your walk.
