Places to Find Kids’ Clothes on a Budget

Kids can be hard on clothes. From running around at recess to spilling something on them at lunch, they put clothes through some serious wear and tear. And then they grow so quickly. Thankfully, Fargo and Moorhead have some great stores to get the kids clothes on a budget!

Here are some shops to check out.

Where to Find Kid’s Clothes on a Budget in Fargo

Kinder Kloset

This family-owned, local business specializes in quality pre-owned children’s clothing (from newborn to size 14), maternity wear, toys, equipment, and more.

Check out their “Dollar Sale,” usually held in January every year!

Once Upon A Child

This store sells a huge variety of gently-used children’s clothing, shoes, equipment, and books with prices up to 70% less than regular retail. They also have great Halloween costumes, a winter coat sale, and both holiday and Spring dress/formal wear events.

Target

Target is a great place for kids’ clothing, with options for babies, toddlers, kids, and teens. Their Cat & Jack brand is durable — plus they stand by their return policy for the clothing for up to one year (you just have to show proof of purchase). When you use Target Circle (their rewards app) you can find coupons for kid’s clothing and shoes. Also, Target has an excellent clearance section.

Walmart

Walmart has some great clothes for kids as well and is known for their Granimals brand. Granimals clothing is usually sold as a matching shirt and pant set. I have also found that Walmart carries a lot of character clothing and has a clearance section to scope out.

Costco

Costco has some nice deals on clothing for babies and kids. They have everything from pajamas to sweat pant outfits to holiday dresses. They also have great leggings for teens! Membership is required to shop.

Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club has amazing deals on baby and kids clothing. They have everything from kid’s outfits to Halloween costumes to swimsuits. Membership is required to shop.

Plato’s Closet

Plato’s Closet is geared toward teen and young adults and sells lightly-used clothing (both men’s and women’s). It’s a great store for your teen trendsetter!

Clothes Mentor

This is a great place to buy and sell name-brand clothing in good condition. This store is well organized and has plenty of options in all sizes for your tweens and teens in both women and men’s sizes.

Uptown Cheapskate

Uptown Cheapskate is a thrift and consignment store geared towards teens/women’s sizes. They have brands from Lululemon, Free People, Champion and more! This is definitely on my list to go check out!
