Weekend Getaways from Fargo: Water Park Hotels

Looking to venture a bit out of the area for the weekend? Check out these fun, family-friendly water park hotels!

CanadInn

Address: 1000 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58201

Drive Length: 1 Hour 15 minutes

Located just to the north in Grand Forks, the CanadInn offers jacuzzi theme suites and kids theme rooms.

This waterpark hotel has a waterslide, activity pool, kiddie pool, slide pool, and lazy river. It also offers an arcade and food options onsite include a buffet, pizza near the pool area, and a pub.

Arrowwood Resort

Address: 2100 Arrowwood Ln, Alexandria, MN 56308

Drive Length: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Located on a lake in Northern Minnesota this resort offers suites, townhomes, and cottages. It has a cafe, spa, golf course, and indoor waterpark. With four-story-tall waterslides, a lazy river, whirlpool spa, kids play fort with water blasters and geysers, basketball shootout, and a lily pad water walk.

The property boasts beautiful lake views and plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy.

Thumper Pond Resort

Address: 300 Thumper Lodge Rd, Ottertail, MN 56571

Drive Length: 1 hour 30 minutes

This Northern Minnesota resort offers lake and forest views. It has an indoor waterpark with two three-story water slides, an activity pool with basketball hoops, volleyball net, and a big whirlpool. A zero entry activity pool is perfect for younger kids. And other amenities include an 18-hole golf course, an onsite restaurant, and a spa.

Seven Clans Casino

Address: 20595 Center St E, Thief River Falls, MN 56701

Drive Length: 2 Hours

Seven Clans Casino features 152 rooms with balcony, fireplace, and jacuzzi suites. Pool options are a waterpark with four large water slides, a lazy river, hot tubs, and a swimming pool. For younger kids there is a wading pool with swings, three mini slides, and a splash pad. Other amenities include a cafe, an arcade, rock climbing wall, and snack bar; with the casino providing entertainment for the adults.

The waterpark is open to registered guests and also the general public through the purchase of water park passes at the hotel front desk.

Comfort Suites Rapid River Lodge

Address: 7376 Woida Rd N, Baxter, MN 56425

Distance: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

The Rapid River Lodge offers 68 hotel suites with various suite options. And a waterpark featuring a tube slide, body slide, and lazy river with a waterfall and rapids. More amenities include a kiddie pool with a tree fort, whirlpool, sauna, video arcade, and basketball hoops.

And for the parents who like pubs, there are three in close proximity to the lodge.

Grand View Lodge

Address: 23521 Nokomis Ave, Nisswa, MN 56468

Drive Length: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Established in 1916, Grand View Lodge is located on the shores of Gull Lake in Nisswa, MN. This location offers a variety of options for vacation lodging that offer privacy and scenic views.

This large property houses a spa, golf course, eight dining venues (including a pub and pizza place), and kids club. The waterpark features a waterslide, outdoor hot tub, 110-foot indoor waterslide, connecting swimming pools, two hot tubs, three fountains, and two water guns.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brainerd – Baxter

Address: 15739 Audubon Way, Brainerd, MN 56401

Distance: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

The Holiday Inn Express is home to the Three Bear Water Park. Featuring waterslides, an activity pool with a water walk, huge family hot tub and adults-only hot tub, lazy river, and grill and bar, it is a fun place for the whole family.

Some of the suites have a log cabin feel with bunk beds for the kids. And they also have an arcade and laser tag.

Party packs and day passes are also available at this location.

Great Wolf Lodge

Address: 1700 American Blvd E, Bloomington, MN 55425

Drive Length: 3 Hours 30 Minutes

This waterpark hotel has a huge indoor water park and tons of adventures for kids. Along with a water park playground, there are various kids activities including a story time, a climbing wall, obstacle course, arcade, mini bowling, and a Build-A-Bear Workshop.

The Great Wolf Lodge offers various suite options to cater to families. There are also several dining choices available onsite with restaurants, a bar, ice cream shop, coffee shop, and even a candy shop.

Access to the waterpark is included with a hotel stay and day passes are also available.
