I first started rock climbing in high school and really got into it in college.

There is so much to love about this sport!

First of all, it is a fun, full body workout. It increases my confidence and boosts my self-esteem. While the challenging aspect keeps me humble, which helps put everything into perspective.

Places to Try Rock Climbing in Fargo

Fargo Climbing

This business is dedicated to the climbing life. With 5+ walls of rotating routes to practice your climbing, plus special climbing shoes to use and staff that knows technique, it’s a great spot to start or continue your rock climbing journey. NRG Adventure Park

This new indoor fun park has some epic climbing options! There are 3 climbing walls, a racing wall, and other fun climbing structures (don’t worry, a harness is used for all climbing!). Entry for the rock climbing is included in the fee for the entire fun park, so make sure you have fun at the other attractions while you are there. NDSU Wellness Center

The NDSU Wellness Center does offer climbing classes during the Fall and Winter, but please note it is for 18+ only. We just thought ut was worth mentioning for any parents interested!

YMCA (Schlossman Branch)

Head to the YMCA of the Northern Sky (Schlossman Branch) to check out their climbing wall! You can use a day pass to get the whole family in, or there is a fee per person just to use the climbing wall. Smaller Climbing Walls (for Smaller Kids)

Courts Plus

There is a smaller climbing wall for kids at the Court’s Plus Playground! Entry is $5 per child (and they have access to the entire playground).

We Rock the Spectrum

There is a smaller climbing wall for kids at We Rock the Spectrum! Open play for 2 hours for the entire gym is $14 per child (and they have access to the entire play gym).
