With so many great options for corn mazes and pumpkin patches in the Fargo area, it’s hard to know which one to choose! A local favorite that is right in West Fargo is the Lost in the Valley Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch. One of the best parts – it’s right here in Fargo, so minimal driving is required. It’s located on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds – so if your littles start to unravel earlier than expected, you can be home in no time.

Cost

Another perk of Lost in the Valley is that all the activities are included in your ticket price, so there are no surprises once you enter. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate, if you’re more of a “last minute activity” mom, or online if you’re more of a planner. However, make sure to check out the online pricing and buy ahead if you can, as they have offered perks in the past. Tickets are $10 per person (ages 3 and up), and children 2 and under are free. Pumpkins and other items can be purchased for an additional fee.

The Corn Maze

Okay, now that we have the logistics covered, let’s get to the fun! The corn maze is 12 acres, which makes it the largest in the Fargo area. And it’s perfect for all skills levels. How long it takes to get through the maze is up to your pace, but plan for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Activities

A scenic tractor ride never fails as a fun activity for the entire family. My kids love them because it gives them a chance to see the entire farm and point out the pumpkins they want later. I love them because it gives me a chance to sit down and not chase my children around for a few minutes!

No matter how old my kids get, they always go straight for the yard games. Lost in the Valley has gravity basketball this year and the ever-classic bags, or corn-hole depending on where you’re from. My kids could play this one for hours! And make sure to check out the ropes course and bouncing pillow, a great way to get the wiggles out.

Lost in the Valley is filled with photos ops as well. Capture all your favorite moments throughout your visit. Just make sure to capture these moments early on before everyone runs out of steam.

She met her husband, Justin, at a bar in Pittsburgh and, despite many romantic Skype dates, found a long-distance relationship to be a drag and moved to Fargo in 2010. She's a bonus mom to Justin's son, Owen (2005), they have twins Augie and Delphi (2016), and a Great Dane, Moose. She's a Speech-Language Pathologist who enjoys helping her patients improve their quality of life. She is also a Certified Sculpt Instructor at Mojo Fit Studios where she attends weekly yoga to stay sane. Katina loves showing the world to her kids (but also seeing the world through their eyes), trying new foods, and listening to live music. On most weekends, you can find her at one of her kids' many activities by day, and by night, on the couch in sweats, eating a homemade charcuterie board and drinking cheap wine she bought at Costco. She still has video call dates, but now they're with friends and family who live all over the place.
