Favorite Beach Bags for Summer

As a mom of two, I have been on the search for a versatile and affordable beach bag.

I wanted one to take to the lakes and beaches, that could also be used for swimming lessons. And I was looking for something waterproof, sand-resistant, and cute. My search took me to Scheels and I did some online shopping on Amazon.

I spent a silly amount of time reading reviews for a beach bag, but I was tired of having sand all over my snacks, or being stuck with everything wet. So after much time and research, these are my top five choices:

Top 5 Beach Bags for Summer

1. Bogg Bag

This bag is great for convenience! It stays standing upright, which makes getting items in and out quick and easy. Also, it’s waterproof and keeps contents dry. Due to the holes, this bag is not sand proof, but it does rinse easily. With the large size you are able to fit sand toys, beach towels, and snacks, etc.

The one downside is there are no real pockets, but there are waterproof inserts you can purchase separately. Also, this bag comes in lots of fun colors and is easy to carry.

2. F-color Mesh Beach Bag

This bag is lightweight and durable, and has lots of pockets. You can easily fit towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, phones, and keys in the numerous pockets. There is also a zipper to keep contents from spilling out.

Some of the reviews stated that the bottom of the bag doesn’t fully keep your contents from getting wet, so this bag might not be great for the boat. However, this bag is sand proof, so it would be nice to take to the beach.

3. Yeti Camino Boat and Beach Tote Bag

Yeti is a reliable brand for both quality and durability. The molded base makes this bag sturdy and it stands on its own, which is convenient for getting items in and out. This tote is waterproof and has a zipper keeping your items extra safe. And it’s lightweight with sturdy straps (making it easy to overfill!). It’s great for the beach or boat. Unfortunately, it’s not sand proof, but it does wipe off easily.

4. Becokan Beach Bag

This bag comes in super cute colors and pattern options, and is very affordable. It’s waterproof with a zipper to keep contents dry. And there are a few pockets to hold water bottles and your phone. This is a larger bag so it’s able to fit in multiple towels, snacks, sunscreen, toys, etc.

On Amazon there are thousands of positive reviews for this bag. However, it is not sand proof, but is machine washable.

This bag would be a good choice for the boat or beach.

5. Salt Life Beach Tote

This nice looking bag has several pockets for you to store all your smaller items. There is a  zipper, plus the inside is lined, so it will keep your items dry. However, the outside is made of cotton so it’s not waterproof or sand proof, but is machine washable.

This tote would be a good option to throw stuff in to get down to the boat, for storing snacks and small items.

What I Picked

Ultimately, I went with the Bogg bag. My girls picked a purple one and it has been a good choice for us.

It is super durable. I can fit snacks, water bottles, towels, and sand toys very comfortably. It doesn’t tip over which makes it easy to get items in and out quickly (great for me with two littles).

I recently purchased waterproof inserts from Amazon to hold my phone, keys, and wallet. Otherwise, those items were falling to the bottom of the bag which gets annoying.

Overall, I am very happy with the Bogg Bag, and will hopefully get a few summers worth of use.
