River’s Bend Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors!

Before the days start to get cooler, we schedule as many park visits as possible. And River’s Bend Park is one of our must-dos! This park is home to exciting play structures, gorgeous scenery, and several great amenities.

Whether you’re exploring the waterfront trails, hosting a gathering, or just letting the little ones burn off some energy — there’s something for everyone to enjoy at River’s Bend Park!

The playground at River’s Bend Park is one of the best in the area. There are two separate play areas — one for children two to five years old, and the other for children five to 12.

The play structure for younger children has a whimsical house design surrounded by towering flowers. It’s like stepping into a Dr. Seuss story! There are plenty of slides and ladders as well as swings, a merry-go-round, and a teeter totter. Little musicians will especially enjoy banging the drums or trilling the xylophone.

The larger playground has a tire swing, big slides, and several great climbing features. Kids can get some serious height scaling those ropes!

Hiking and Biking Path

The trails are great for hiking or biking in this scenic area. Or, if relaxing is more your style, then simply enjoy the beautiful views of the pond from one of the cozy resting spots.

Accommodations for Gatherings

If you’re looking to host a gathering, River’s Bend Park has some great amenities available!

River’s Bend Open Shelter hosts 30 guests and offers four large tables. The space has great views of the water and also the nearby playground, making it a fantastic picnic location!

River’s Bend Activity Center is an enclosed building able to host 60 guests (and 50 additional outside). The site is available to rent from April to October. Amenities for the facility include indoor restrooms, a covered porch with picnic tables, electricity, and air conditioning. This would be a fantastic spot to host a larger gathering, such as a graduation party.

Winter Activities

The fun is just getting started at River’s Bend Park when winter arrives. When the area is covered in a blanket of snow — the sledding begins! Bring your sleds or tubes and race down the park’s sledding hill.

If ice skating is more your style, take a twirl at the park’s skating rink! River’s Bend Park also has a warming house available if you need a respite from the cold.

River’s Bend Park has plenty to offer its visitors, and is a fantastic year-round destination to get outside, get moving, and enjoy the area’s beauty.
