Drinking water should be part of your daily life. And appropriate hydration has many benefits including: regulating body, temperature, staying mentally focused, clearing skin, lubricating joints, maintaining digestive health, helping blood flow, curbing appetite and protecting your kidneys.

Now, actually drinking the water can be the hard part!

Especially if you are a coffee drinker. Personally, I try to stop drinking coffee between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. and then switch to water. I also bring two water jugs to work to sip throughout the day.

Guide to Best Water Tumblers

If you know me, then you know I love water bottles. I have a ton! However, I am picky when it comes to my favorites that I use daily.

Here are some of my must-haves for a water tumbler:

  • I love cold water, so I like tumblers that can keep ice for the entire day.
  • Leakproof — with kids and all the bags I want one that I can throw into my bag and go without having to worry about it leaking.
  • Big cups — I want a 40 oz. water tumbler. With the 40 oz. I can fill it up two times and I’m good for the day.
  • One that fits in my cup holder.
  • I like ones that have a handle.
  • And a big one for me, it has to have a straw. I drink way more water during the day if I can drink through a straw.

Here’s a review of five popular water bottles, including Stanley, HydroJug, Brumate Era, Owala, and Simple Modern.

Water Tumbler Reviews

Stanley

Pros: 40 oz., has a straw, fits in my cup holder, has a handle, and keeps ice all day.

Cons: Not leakproof.

I love my Stanley tumblers! At one point I think I had four. I love its ability to keep ice, but it drives me crazy that they leak. And not just a little bit — they leak bad! I still use my Stanley daily, but it is no longer my go-to tumbler.

HydroJug

Pros: Leakproof, has a straw, 40 oz., fits in my cup holder, and has a handle.

Cons: Doesn’t keep ice as well.

This has become my go-to tumbler during the day. I can throw it in my bag and I am good to go. It’s easy to transport and has a grip on the bottom so it doesn’t slide or tip over easily. Also, it comes in super cute color combinations!

Brumate Era

Pros: Leakproof, has a straw, 40 oz., fits in my cup holder, and has a handle.

Cons: Doesn’t keep ice as well.

Brumate Era tumblers have a sleek look and come in a variety of colors. I personally have not yet tried this one, but I see them all over. Bonus: they are a bit cheaper than HydroJug and Stanley.

Owala

Pros: Available in 40 oz., fits in my cup holder, and leakproof.

Cons: Doesn’t keep ice well and no straw.

Owala water bottles have so many color combinations and have a nice look. I personally haven’t tried them since they don’t have a straw. But these are great for kids who are in activities, to fill up and throw into their bags. Also, their price point is a bit more affordable.

Simple Modern

Pros: 40 oz., fits in my cup holder, some are leakproof, and has a handle.

Cons: Not all are leakproof, and not great at keeping ice.

Simple Modern cups are a bit more affordable. I have the 20 oz. tumblers for my girls and they LOVE them! Both of them drink more water when their cups have straws. And I love that they’re getting into the hydration habit.

Hopefully you will find this guide helpful. No matter that kind of water bottle you have, just been sure that you are drinking enough water to help your body function at its best.
