3 Party Favors Kids & Moms Love

I don’t think parents should feel obligated to give out party favors to guests at a kid’s party.

But, I always appreciate when parents put together a little thank you. And our kids love receiving party favors!

Sadly, though, sometimes the favors get a bit repetitive. They end up being just one more thing to clean up off bedroom floors, rather than worth the money the family spent on them.

If you want to send kids off with a little thank you, here are some party favor ideas that I found both kids and moms love.

Party Favor Ideas

1. Non-Candy Consumables

Consumables are some of my favorite types of favors because kids enjoy them and they go away (no more clutter!), which makes me love them, too.

Candy is a crowd-pleaser — go for it if you want to! But I like dropping in something kids enjoy that is a bit different.

Individual snacks from the “lunchbox” aisle have been a hit for us. Try packs of animal crackers, or applesauce for little ones. For older kids think fruit snacks, a small drink, and packs of crackers. We even found on-theme snacks for our last party!

Mini sports drinks or bottles of water are a fun fit for sports-themed parties. You can even turn up the nutrition with small tangerines.

2. Toys That Don’t Immediately Hit the Garbage Can

Mini Legos were a hit at our son’s last birthday. We found little poké balls for his Pokémon themed party. These reasonably priced mini animals on Amazon would work for any theme.

Other ideas we have done are Hot Wheels, trading cards, and pop-it or themed keychains.

For little ones small packs of crayons, dollar store bubbles, crazy loop straws, and mini Squishmallows have been things we enjoy giving out.

3. A Thank You Gift Card

Instead of the money spent on a gift bag of small things, a $5 gift card for ice cream (or anywhere) is also a great option. It seemed expensive to me at first, until I started doing the math of what could actually go into gift bags.

As I work to declutter my own home, I have been more mindful of the clutter I send off into other homes. I want the gifts we send out to be eaten or actually used to keep the moms happy too!
