We can all agree that no child should go hungry over concerns that they don’t have enough food to get by, especially during the summer months when school is out.

We have compiled a list of schools, organizations, and food pantries that are offering free summer lunch programs in Fargo and Moorhead (and breakfast, too!).

YMCA Meal Programs

All kids ages 18 and younger can get FREE healthy breakfasts and lunches at many
sites – no eligibility requirements! Learn more at ymcanorthernsky.org/foodprograms.

Here are the Distribution Sites and days/times (NO FOOD DISTRIBUTION June 29 – July 3):

2026 Sites:

Dates: May 26 – August 26, 2026 (Monday-Friday)

  • Independence Elementary School, Fargo (7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
  • L.E. Berger Elementary, West Fargo (7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
  • Schlossman YMCA, Fargo (7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
  • YMCA South Learning Center at Urban Plains, Fargo (7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

Dates: June 8 – August 14, 2026 (Monday-Friday)

  • Brunsdale Park, Fargo (11:00 – 11:30 a.m.)
  • Park at the Arbors, Fargo (1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
  • South Elementary, West Fargo (12:00 -12:30 p.m.)

 

Fargo Public Schools

Note: All food must be consumed on site this summer. No grab and go bags will be available. Find more information on each meal site at www.fns.usda.gov/meals4kids.

Jefferson Elementary (June 7 – 17, 2026)

  • Breakfast 7:45 – 8:20 a.m. (Monday-Friday)

South High School (June 7 – 25, 2026; closed June 19)

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:15 a.m. (Monday-Friday)
  • Lunch 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Lewis & Clark Elementary (June 7 – 25, 2026; closed June 19)

  • Breakfast 7:45 – 8:20 a.m.

 

West Fargo Public Schools

WFPS will provide free breakfast and lunch to community kids from May 27 – June 27 at the following locations (please note days vary). Meals must be consumed on site. 

Community High School

  • Lunch 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Willow Park Elementary

  • Breakfast 7:45 – 8:00 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

West Fargo High School

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:00 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.

 

Moorhead Public Schools

Moorhead area Public Schools will be providing summer meals for all children. All meals must be eaten on site (pick-up is no longer an option).

Main Schedule: June 1 – August 20 (Monday – Thursday)

S. G. Reinertsen (Door #13)

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Closed June 19th

Ellen Hopkins (Door #1)

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Queens Park

  • Lunch 10:45 – 11:00 a.m.

Romkey Park

  • Lunch 11:10 – 11:25 a.m.

Arrowhead Park

    • Lunch 11:35 – 11:50 a.m.

Hansmann Park

  • Lunch 12:00 – 12:15 p.m.

 

Grace Lutheran Elementary School

Served Monday – Friday from June 1 – August 20, 2026.

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:15 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

 

Heart-n-Soul Community Cafe

Provides lunches to everyone in the community and locations around the Fargo-Moorhead area (on a pay-as-you-can model). See their Facebook page for a list of their meal events!

Served at the service center Monday – Friday from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.

Free Lunch Program
