If you’ve ever been to the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN with your kids, you know how much there is to take in. We all know kids can only shop for so long, so on our recent visit to MOA we were thrilled to visit the Museum of Illusions on the 2nd Floor for a much-needed shopping break!

Museum of Illusions

This one of a kind, interactive museum is one of 24 Museums of Illusion in the United States, and one of 58 worldwide! It is a visual, sensory, and educational experience for all ages. Be prepared to engage your sense of wonder and explore the science behind some incredible optical illusions.

The best part – bring your camera for a ton of fun and unique photo opportunities!

Some of our favorites included the Infinity Room, Ames Room (where you can be short or tall!), and Clone Room. There were so many fun pictures to take, and each room explained the science behind the illusion.

Hang from buildings, go through portals, and sit sideways. Then send to your friends to wow them! Every experience at the Museum of Illusions asks, “How did they do that?” Your kids will love showing their friends and family these fun photos and explain how the illusions work.

Optical Illusions

There’s so much more than just photos – the Museum of Illusions has over 50 installations to explore that include holograms, mirrors, and spinning sculptures and designs. Prepare to be mesmerized and amazed as you explore the science behind each one.
