Best Memberships in Fargo That Are Worth It for Families

Our area has some of the best memberships in Fargo for families to take advantage of. Sometimes it’s hard to know if it’s worth it to purchase a family membership versus a one-time pass. Here’s a roundup of my family’s favorite places, where I think it’s a great value to purchase a membership!

Best Memberships in Fargo for Families

Family Wellness

Family Wellness, a large wellness facility, has something for everyone.

The gym facilities at Family Wellness include weight equipment, a walking track, and cardio machines. There are jogging strollers you can use if you want to get in a walk with your little one. Also, fitness classes are included in the cost of membership.

Family Wellness has a great childcare area. You can join the waitlist online, or drop-in care is available. The childcare area accepts children from two weeks old to nine years old, and a parent or guardian must stay in the building for the entire time.

Our favorite amenity at Family Wellness are the pools. There is a large pool which is typically used for swimming lessons or lap swimming, and a zero-depth entry pool that is perfect for young children. My kids love going to the pool and it’s the ideal place for them to burn off some energy during those long winter days.

Membership Cost

A family membership is $107 per month, or $142 per month with childcare included. Another option is to pay per visit for childcare.

YMCA Fercho

Another great option for wellness membership is the YMCA downtown. They have multiple swimming pools (include a pool for littles), on-site childcare, tons of youth programs and activities, and a new kid’s play space! A variety of group fitness classes offered including aquatics, and if groups aren’t your thing, personal training.

Membership Cost

Their standard household monthly rate is $96, and $120 a month includes childcare and other discounts. For a breakdown of all their rate options, check out their website.

Red River Zoo

This is one membership that we renew every single year.

My kids love the zoo, and with a membership, the pressure is off to make sure the trip is “worth it.” Do you have an hour to kill between activities or before nap time? Head to the zoo! The zoo is also a great place to bring a stroller and walk with a baby when the weather is nice.

One of the best perks we have discovered with our Red River Zoo membership is the reciprocity program. This is a partnership that the Red River Zoo has with over 150 other zoos and aquariums.  Recently we have used our membership at the Red River Zoo to get a discounted rate at the Phoenix Zoo and also the Minnesota Zoo.

Membership Cost

A household membership is $120 annually. This gives you not only free admission to the zoo, but early admission as well! The zoo typically opens at 10:00 a.m., but members can get in at 9:00 a.m. This gives the kids some extra time (and room) to run around, check out the animals, and feed the llamas before it gets too crowded.

A Red River Zoo membership also gives you free entry to special events, like Boo at the Zoo (a favorite in our family).

Kidco Children’s Museum

Another great option for ongoing learning is Moorhead’s very own children’s museum!  KidCo. is an imagination focused, indoor play land for kiddos ages 0-8 years old. Sessions are 90 minutes and adults and kiddos play in their socks. Reservations are not required but are highly encouraged (especially on weekends). Adults and infants accompanying their siblings are free. They provide complimentary coffee as well as water daily.

Membership Cost

Monthly rates are $29 a month per kid. You receive early access to Kidco special event tickets, member appreciation events, 20% off merchandise, and 10% off birthday parties. They offer a wide variety of memberships and packages which you can find here.

Rustad Indoor Playground

The Rustad Recreation Center, located in West Fargo, has a large indoor playground area. There’s playground equipment for both older and younger children. And the floor is slightly cushioned to make it a bit safer for adventurous little ones.

Socks must be worn at all times, and no food or drink is allowed other than water. You don’t need to call ahead of time or reserve a spot, and there is no time limit. There is also a walking track above the indoor playground, so if you’re there with another adult, you can switch off walking a few laps and watching the kids if they’re under 10.

Cost

Admission is $5.00 per child (children under the age of two are free), or $40 for a punch card for 10 visits. During the winter months it’s a no-brainer to get the punch card. You will definitely get your money’s worth!

Nothing says get the wiggles out quite like a trampoline park! It’s more than just jumping, they have dodge ball, jousting, climbing wall, drop zone and more!

Membership Cost

There are two levels of memberships with varying perks. Basic is $19.99 a month and Elite for $24.99 a month with the biggest difference being an extra 30 minutes of jump time! Learn more about membership perks by checking out their website.

Fargo Parks Sports Center

Fargo’s newest addition to indoor play is a sprawling sports complex south of 52nd avenue. Similar to Rustad in West Fargo, they have courts, field turf, walking track and an indoor playground.

The playground welcomes children ages 6 months to 12 years old with two separate structures designed specifically for 6 months to 23 months and two to five years old. The structures are designed to keep kids active and engaged with a soft turf surface to keep them safe. Socks are required and clean shoes preferred.

Cost

Drop-ins welcomed during normal business hours and are $5 for children one year and older; adults and children under one are free. They also offer punch cards if you plan to visit a lot!

Dreamland

Dreamland Indoor Playground takes pride in being a premier indoor play facility dedicated to keeping children entertained. This spacious playground spans over 3,000 square feet and is specifically designed for children aged 6 months to 12 years old.

They boast a two-level play structure with many activities including wave slides, foam ball blasters, and foam obstacle pits. Other features such as bridges, a rock climbing wall, and mini zip lining offer endless fun for your little ones. This space also includes a gated area for children three years old and under to safely play.

Membership Cost

Memberships for one child are $38 per month and include admissions for a 2-hour pass any day of the week, 10% off birthday parties and store merchandise, and $1 socks. To add more children or single-play passes, check out their website.
