2. Duluth
Distance from Fargo: 4.5 hours
Venture up north and experience the scenic beauty of Duluth! There’s lots of fun to be had outdoors, but there are also indoor options. Take the time to explore the Great Lakes Aquarium, Duluth Children’s Museum, and Lake Superior Railroad Museum.
Check out the nearby sights (like Split Rock Lighthouse) and enjoy the good food and local shops.

3. Sioux Falls
Distance from Fargo: 3.5 hours
Make the trip to South Dakota’s largest city. Local attractions include the downtown SculptureWalk, Wild Water West Waterpark, and Butterfly House & Aquarium — the only public saltwater aquarium in the Dakotas.
Other sights include the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History, parks, and bike trails.

4. Bismarck

Our neighbors to the north sometimes get forgotten about as a destination, but at a short 3 hours away Winnipeg makes for a great family destination! With lots of unique cuisine and things to do, it’s the perfect spot to spend a quick weekend away (just don’t forget the passport!).
Some favorites on our list are Assinniboine Park & Zoo, the Leaf Botanical Gardens, the CF Polo Park Mall, the Manitoba Museum, and the Forks Market.

These are really great ideas, and I also think Winnipeg is a great destination! Kids can experience traveling across the border, explore the French quarter, and there’s lots of fun shopping, festivals, and museums.
We are heading to the twin cities for spring break, By summer we will opt for Sioux Falls or Winnipeg.. Thanks for these wonderful suggestions..
