Moorhead Natural playground

There’s a NEW playground in town, and it’s full of nature goodness!

The Rotary Natural Play Hill is located in Riverfront Park in Moorhead, between the Hjemkomst Center and Riverhaven Events Center. A bit hidden from the road, the playground is nestled along the Red River and surrounded by trees. It’s the perfect nature escape, paired with playground fun!

Fun park features at the natural play hill include:

  • 20 feet tall Treehouse Tower
  • 2 slides
  • Climbing Nets
  • Obstacle course
  • Bicycle Park
  • Zip Line
  • Tons of wooden climbing features
  • Wooden Teeter Totter

The natural play hill is a project years in the making, thanks to the FM Rotary Foundation and Rotary Clubs of Moorhead and Fargo.

The natural playground address is at Riverfront Park, 600 1st Avenue North in Moorhead, and there is a small parking lot available next to the park. At this time, public restrooms are not available.

If you are looking to make more of an adventure out of your visit, be sure to check out the new Moorhead River Corridor Trail Discovery Walk! The entire self-guided walk features 17 interpretive signs featuring parts of Moorhead’s history, but there are about 5 spots that can be visited between Viking Ship Park (west along the trail to Hjemkomst Center) and Memorial Park (east along the trail towards Riverhaven).
