5 Favorite Parenting Podcasts

Did you know there are over 2 million podcasts currently available?

If you’re like me, you may find yourself throwing on a podcast while driving, cooking, or cleaning. Podcasts are a great resource for inspiration, education or just letting your mind escape to someplace else for a while.

And as a busy mom of two littles, I have leaned into parenting podcasts often this year. Here are a few of my favorites.

My 5 Top Parenting Podcasts

1. The Mom Hour

Hosts Meagan Francis and Sarah Powers are two moms with eight kids between them, from little to grown. They offer practical tips, real life encouragement for moms, and cover a wide range of topics. Their top-ranked show also regularly features gift guides, playlists, cooking ideas, and product round-ups to help moms of any stage.

2. Unruffled

Author Janet Lansbury focuses on one of the most challenging stages of parenting, the baby and toddler years. In this podcast, she guides parents on how to gently respond to toddler outbursts and emotions. She also offers reassuring guidance for parents who want to take an alternative approach to the parenting style they grew up with.

3. Coffee + Crumbs

This podcast is full of relatable stories of motherhood. This encouraging community of mothers puts the listener at ease. And it serves as a good reminder that we are not alone in what we feel and experience.

4. What Fresh Hell

Sometimes we just have to laugh at our journey in motherhood and this podcast offers a chance to do just that. It provides comedic relief and also advice for parents, offering three episodes each week: “Question of the Week” on Mondays, regular weekly episodes on Wednesdays, and a “Fresh Take” interview with experts on Fridays.

5. Risen Motherhood

This Christian-based podcast offers mothers not only offers practical tips but also equips mothers with Bible and faith-based advice. With the right mix of grace and truth, this podcast offers the listener hope and encouragement.

I hope you get a chance to give these a listen. And that you are able to find a bit of encouragement, a laugh, or just a bit of entertainment.

Kallie Swenson
In 4th grade, Kallie sported two things: an awkward haircut and the title of “new kid.” Her family moved from Crookston to Moorhead, where she went on to graduate from Moorhead High. After graduating, she packed up and migrated south, to the Twin Cities area. There she lived with an amazing set of roommates… her grandparents! She still considers this one of the best decisions of her life. She attended one year at a community college before deciding she would venture back to Moorhead to earn a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her career spanned across local organizations, including for SCHEELS and The Salvation Army. In 2016, Kallie made the huge decision to buy a house in Barnesville. She closed on her 25th birthday and moved in with her dog, Lily. In 2017, she began dating a long-time friend (not all love is love at first sight!) and got married in March of 2019. She and her husband, Jordan, enjoy traveling, the outdoors, live music, and finding treasures during garbage week. Kallie is now a proud stay-at-home mom to 2 girls. She loves writing about thrifty living, party planning, and nurturing relationships on her blog. When Kallie bought her small, 980-square foot home she never imagined so much love would grow there. Her family eventually plans to build in the country but for now, enjoy the closeness of small living.
