Mental Health Awareness Month: Talk Saves Lives

May 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us to learn about recent research studies and stats regarding suicide, identifying risk factors, and being proactive in offering assistance to those struggling.

Samantha Christopherson, Executive Director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in North and South Dakota, will present the latest data on suicide in the U.S. and worldwide, including the most up-to-date research on prevention and what causes people to consider suicide, as well as health, historical, and environmental factors that put individuals at risk. Attendees will learn protective factors that lower risk, what people can do in their communities to save lives, how to be proactive about keeping themselves and others safe, and how to get help for someone in crisis.

This presentation is provided by funds raised through F/M Area Out of the Darkness Community Walk.

Moorhead Public Library is offering programs throughout Mental Health Awareness Month in May, to share information about mental health and well-being.
