2026 Valley RC Flyers Annual Fun-Fly and Model Air Show

Join Valley RC Flyers for a full weekend of RC flying, great people, exciting aircraft, prizes, food, and fun at our flying field just north of Moorhead!

Last year’s 75th Anniversary milestone celebration brought 85 pilots and more than 300 spectators to the field for an outstanding weekend and main airshow. We are not slowing down in 2026—our prize slate is already coming together, and we are looking forward to another fantastic event for pilots, families, and anyone curious about the RC hobby.

For Spectators and Guests…Admission is free!

Saturday afternoon is the best time to visit, with a public model airshow featuring flying demonstrations and plenty of activity around the field. Expect a wide variety of RC aircraft—from detailed scale models and warbirds to high-performance jets, aerobatic airplanes, and more.

Bring a folding chair for the best viewing experience. Limited seating is available, and free parking is available on-site.

A food truck will be available on Saturday for pilots and guests alike.

Saturday, August 1 — Main Event
• 8:00–10:00 a.m. — Pilot registration
• 10:00 a.m. — Pilot meeting
• 11:30 a.m. — Lunch begins
• 12:15 p.m. — Airspace closes for airshow preparation
• 12:30 p.m. — Public model airshow
• 5:00 p.m. — Pilot prizes
• 6:00 p.m. — Dinner
• Night flying

Sunday, August 2
• Open flying
• Clean-up

For Pilots

• All aircraft welcome
• AMA membership required
• AMA Sanction No. 19529
• Pilot fee: $30 adults / $10 under age 19
• Lunch included with pilot registration
• Saturday dinner available for $15
• Primitive camping available at the field with sorta-potties and a hand washing station.
• Bring RC gear for the swap shop—trade, sell, and discover something new
• Our field features a 300′ × 30′ Propex runway plus an 800′ × 300′ grass runway
• Informal food gatherings will be coordinated as pilots arrive in the days leading up to Saturday. We expect simple options such as burgers and other shared meals so everyone can participate, relax, and enjoy time together at the field.
