Music Classes

Children’s Music Academy

Parents participate in activities that introduce kids to the fundamentals of music. Age-appropriate courses take place for Junior: pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, and Intermediate: first and second graders. At Children’s Music Academy, kids will learn a variety of skills to build on year after year.

Little Notes Music

Enjoy music together with group music classes for babies and toddlers. Kids six months to four years old participate with a parent and classes are year-round. Classes are organized according to age and are held once a week.

Selah Music Studio

Teach kids music appreciation and education from birth up to age four in Selah Music Studio’s mixed age classes. Groups of up to 10 children (with their parents) will sing, dance, and play together in the weekly 45-minute class, part of their 10-week program. Kids will use child-friendly instruments in a natural, family-style learning environment.

 

Swimming Classes

Concordia College Swimming

Recommended for children ages two and up, the goal of class is to help kids become acquainted with the water as parents involved in the process. The class requires a parent in the water with their child for each 30-minute session

Family Wellness Swim

For ages six months and up, Family Wellness offers parent/baby and parent/child classes in a safe and fun environment. Classes take place once a week for 30 minutes and are structured by age and ability. Their goal is to build confidence, self-esteem, and a feeling of accomplishment.

Foss Swim School

Parents assist kids in acclimating to the water in Foss Swim School’s learn-to-swim classes. Kids and adults can bond with each other as they learn necessary water safety skills in a fun environment.

YMCA Swim

At the Fercho location in Fargo offers parent and baby classes for two age groups. For ages six to 18 months, the focus is on teaching parents how to properly hold the baby while working on submerging, floating, hand-eye coordination, and muscle strengthening through games and song. Parent and child classes for kids 19 to 35 months work on relaxed floating, breath control, independent climbing out of the pool, muscle strengthening, and games and songs.

 

Art & Learning Classes

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is offered through Moorhead Community Education. ECFE staff partner with parents to offer learning experiences, strengthen families, and support parents.

This class is open to kids from birth to Kindergarten entry. Families from Moorhead, Fargo, and West Fargo are welcome to attend.

All ECFE classes are taught by licensed, experienced teachers. Registration is available on the Moorhead Community Education website.

Plains Art Museum Family Classes

The Plains Art Museum from time to time will offer family classes taught by practicing artists with all materials provided. In addition, their Kid Quest event also takes place monthly. Registration is required.

Red River Zoo L.E.A.P Class

Experience a guided adventure through the Red River Zoo with animal encounters, zoo walks, and themed activities. This educational and hands-on class is for kids ages two to five with an adult.

Classes are monthly, September through May, and each month has a unique theme. Check their website for the schedule of what’s currently happening!

Sports & Movement Classes

American Gold Gymnastics

Kids ages 3 months to 3 years old can attend a Parent-Tot class to work on coordination, balance, and listening skills while exploring movement and music. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis so you can attend as long as your schedule allows!

Fargo All Stars

This cheer gym offers a Lil’ Movers class for kids ages 8 months to 2-years-old with an active helper. Enrollment is ongoing to allow you to join class anytime it works for you.

Fargo Basketball Academy

Get ready for some basketball fun in their Little Hoppers class! Geared towards children ages 2.5 to 4 years old with a caregiver, these classes works on body awareness and sensory stimulation.

Fargo Parks, Adult + Tot Skating

The Fargo Park District holds skating classes for kids ages two to five with an accompanying adult. The class focuses on basic skills, has three levels, and registration is for a six-week session.

Levity Tumble Gym

Bring your little one to Bouncing Babies at the Levity Tumble gym! Created for babies ages 9 months to 18 months old, this parent-assisted class will focus on sensory development, body awareness, and motor skills.

TNT Movement & Milestones

These baby and toddler classes help expand cognitive, social, and sensory skills with interactive activities and fun music. These parent-child classes support developmental milestone achievements and progress through the program is based on developmental ability.
