Red River Dance is not your average dance studio. This organization has been serving the community for almost 50 years, providing a wide range of opportunities to people of all ages and abilities.

As the region’s only non-profit dance studio, Red River Dance believes in its mission — dance is for all!

What Makes Red River Dance Unique?

To start, collaboration with other non-profit organizations helps Red River Dance reach those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate. Together, these organizations support each other, providing special opportunities for people of all backgrounds. Throughout these partnerships, they’ve provided:

  • Special classes for children whose families otherwise couldn’t commute or afford to attend.
  • Programming focused on building self-esteem and confidence in young females.
  • Parent-child dance classes for fathers re-entering society after incarceration to create experiences for their children.

In addition, Red River Dance offers a one-of-a-kind adaptive dance program, a scholarship program for those needing financial assistance, an elite competitive dance team, classes for adults, and more.

More than Just Dance

Red River Dance believes dance is for people of all abilities. A few years ago, they started their own adaptive dance program for ages seven through adult. And this inclusive program is free! Beyond Dance is designed specifically for those with unique needs, whether physical, emotional, or developmental.

Beyond Dance instructors are certified through Rhythm Works, thanks to a generous sponsorship from Gate City Bank. This program is free to all participants, and they get to shine while performing on stage in two dance recitals.

The Beyond Dance program is designed to help dancers reach their full potential. The Rhythm Works curriculum provides a fun way for dancers to work on large and small motor skills, coordination, balance, and memory. Beyond Dance students see incredible growth in confidence in themselves and their abilities. This growth has been seen at home, in school, and in daily life activities.

Competitive Teams

Red River Dance is a well-known competitive studio in North Dakota. The competitive teams attend regional competitions and national competitions. Also, these dancers can also be found at community events, such as performing at galas and nursing homes, and more.

Training for these dancers includes classes at the studio, regional conventions, pop-up workshops from guest choreographers, and an annual intensive featuring nationally acclaimed guest instructors.

For dancers looking to pursue a future in dance beyond high school, Red River Dance is a fantastic place to consider training. Over the years, dancers have gone on to join elite college dance teams, perform in national tours of shows, and even in the Super Bowl halftime performance.

By offering competitive opportunities for different skill levels, participants can choose their level of commitment.

  • Red Lines are for advanced dancers looking to further expand and grow their dance experiences.
  • Gem Lines are for beginner/intermediate dancers who want to enjoy the competition with a lower commitment level.

Dancers as young as five years old can join the competitive teams and learn dedication, responsibility, teamwork, and build confidence!

Adult Classes

Whether interested in learning to dance or looking to find people with similar interests, the adult classes are a great option for those 18+. Beginners and established dancers come together for a class filled with fun, social connection, and a workout. Offered in two separate eight-week sessions throughout the year:

  • Adult Ballet/Lyrical offers exercises at the barre along with stretching and a short ballet and lyrical combination.
  • Adult Tap combines basic tap movements with rapid, varying musical rhythms to maintain aerobic activity and challenge the mind of the adult dancer.
  • Adult Hip Hop provides a fun upbeat dance experience that offers a workout without even realizing it.

In addition to these classes, themed Adult Pop Up classes are also an option! From the classic movie, Dirty Dancing, to Britney Spears and more, these themed classes provide a combination of styles such as tap, lyrical, and jazz while embracing the theme. And these pop ups are low commitment since each class is only one day. Also, discounts are available for those signing up for multiple pop ups!

Dance Craze Camps

Dance Craze Camps are various themed day camps for children 3-8 years old. At camp, dancers get to have fun, learn dance skills and technique, and be creative. Each day campers enjoy a snack, make an art project, and participate in creative movement. In addition, they learn a dance that fits with the camp’s theme. Family and friends watch a mini performance on the last day of class!

These themed camps are offered throughout the year during the summer and over holidays.

Community Partnerships

Being a non-profit organization, Red River Dance is living its mission of providing opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Together with other non-profit organizations, Red River Dance can provide the space and instruction to members of our community who might not otherwise be able to participate. From providing adaptive dance classes to parent-child classes and more, these partnerships are mutually beneficial. These charities work together to serve the community and double their impact!

Supporting Dance for All

The mission of Red River Dance is to provide quality instruction, choreography, and performance opportunities for dancers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds by valuing integrity, relationships, growth, adaptability, and creativity.

As a non-profit organization, Red River Dance provides diverse opportunities for everyone in our community.
