Sunflower Fields Near Fargo | Within 2 Hours

Nothing else quite symbolizes the beginning of harvest as those iconic sunflowers fields blooming throughout the valley. Whether you grew up on a farm or not, the beauty of sunflowers near Fargo in August is something to see (and if you’re lucky, snap some photos in!).

Thanks to ND Tourism Department and some thorough research, we’ve rounded up the closest sunflower fields (within 2 hours) where visitors are allowed! Please keep in mind that many of these fields are private farms, so please do not pick sunflowers, be respectful of the property, and pick up any trash. 

IMPORTANT: Sunflowers bloom quickly and peak in August, so check the ND Tourism website to find the most recent bloom information before you plan a visit.

Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch (Emerado, ND)

Every September, Nelson’s hosts a “Sunflower Shindig” where they offer sunflowers for purchase and photo opportunities. 2023 event is from September 9th-17th. Please see their website for hours and details.

This is a public farm, so you are welcome to walk through the sunflowers, take pictures, and take some sunflowers home with you! Visit their website for hours and admission prices. Hours are subject to change based on blooming, so please call 320-334-1620 before you visit!
