West Fargo Library at Rendezvous Park

The West Fargo Public Library delivers the joy of reading to kids across West Fargo and beyond by popping up at local parks, neighborhoods, and community events through our summer outreach program with the Little Red Reading Bus. We know that introducing reading to kids, especially at a young age, sets them up for success in school and beyond. We also realize that not all people have books at home or a means to go to the physical library, so we bring the books and a library experience directly to you instead.

Each “pop-up library” stop includes tons of books to browse, read, and check out, games and activities for families that practice important literacy skills, take-home activities, free wifi access, and a comprehensive library experience where people of all ages can return library books, pick up holds, sign up for a library card, ask questions, check out items, pick up Summer Boost reading challenge prizes and learn more about library programs and services.

This year’s route schedule is:
5:30 – 7 p.m. Mondays at Meadowlark Park
9 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Rendezvous Park
5:30 – 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Dakota Park
5:30 – 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Goldenwood Park
5:30 – 7 p.m. Thursdays at River’s Bend Park

The Library will visit parks June 3 through Aug. 8. There will be NO route stops July 3 – 7 or the evening of Aug. 6.

Our summer outreach program with the Little Red Reading Bus is part of the West Fargo Library’s Summer Boost reading and learning program for all ages. Pack your bags for a summer of exploration, adventure, and educational fun! This year’s theme, Eras of Adventure, will have you exploring the high seas, blasting into outer space, galloping through the Wild West, embarking on quests in faraway kingdoms, and finding adventures in your own backyard all summer long.

PLEASE NOTE: This year, we have slightly decreased the amount of stops available, but we have increased the amount of time we will be spending at each stop. If this year’s stops don’t quite fit your family’s schedule, we’d love to welcome you to the wide array of exciting events happening at the West Fargo Public Library this summer. Each year, we carefully review our outreach routes, taking into account factors like distance from the library, staff availability, past attendance, and the bustling schedule of in-building and community events.
