Ask anyone with a teenage girl about the values they want to teach their daughter, and you will undoubtedly have a common response of phrases like hard work, leadership, and empowerment.

So when we heard about the Empower Entrepreneurship Retreat hosted by Concordia College, we knew so many parents of teenage daughters would love to hear about this amazing opportunity!

Empower Entrepreneurship Retreat

The Empower Entrepreneurship Retreat is a five-day overnight experience on the Concordia College campus for girls entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school.

Camp Details

The retreat is held over 5 days and four nights at Concordia College from June 15-19, 2026. The goal of the entire five-day experience is to build leadership skills, strengthen identity for each participant, and equip campers with tools in not only entrepreneurship, but also maintaining their own well-being in their daily life.

“This is for the high school girl who is curious about leadership, passionate about making an impact through her life, and ready to meet like-minded girls,” said Heather McDougall J.D., program director and assistant professor of entrepreneurship at Concordia.

McDougall, who graduated from Concordia in 2006, was co-founder and CEO of a sustainable products company for 10 years, before joining the investment committee of 701 Fund, a venture capital fund out of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She earned her doctorate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2009.

Financial advisor Tammy Laurent, CPWA®, CEPA®, CRPC™ and film producer Kyra Rahn, both entrepreneurs themselves, will also serve as facilitators for the event.
