There are many resources throughout the Fargo & Moorhead area that support the LGBTQ+ community. Our guide below has local, state, and national resources for parents that identify as LGBTQ+, parents that have children that identify as LGBTQ+, and resources for those wanting to become an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

Canopy Medical Clinic

Canopy provides individualized and holistic treatment options, with a speciality in Gynecology, Sexual Health and LBGTQ+ Health. They are an affirming practice, and welcome all LBGTQ+ individuals and allies.

Community Uplift Program

Through discussion groups and community events, the Community Uplift Program aims to help at risk LGBTQ+ and Secular individuals, as well as People of Color, with life crises and coordinate the help that they need.

Fargo Human Rights Commission

The Fargo Human Rights Commission works to promote acceptance and respect for diversity and discourages all forms of discrimination.

FM LGBT Film Festival

The Fargo-Moorhead LGBT Film Festival celebrates Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender lived experience through the visions of innovative filmmakers.

FM Pride

FM PRIDE unites and engages individuals and organizations through community events to empower, educate and support the LGBTQ Community in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Their annual FM Pride Celebration is held in August every year!

Harbor Health Initiative

HHI seeks to better the healthcare infrastructure that is already in place by advocating for trans inclusive health services and cultural competency training.

The Human Family

The Human Family is an organization dedicated to the creation, support, promotion and distribution of human rights, social justice and social issue based projects.

The Human Family is the curators and stewards of The North Dakota Human Rights Film & Arts FestivalsThe North Dakota Environmental Rights Film Festival, and the Fargo-Moorhead LGBT Film Festival.

New Story Fargo

All providers at New Story are queer-friendly and work with transgender, gender non-conforming, and/or gender fluid individuals. This may involve referral for hormone therapy and/or surgery, addressing the coming out process, navigating name and gender changes, healing from misnaming/mis-gendering, and ultimately accepting and integrating oneself without shame or fear. This process may also include learning to self-advocate, create space for oneself in the community, and face the challenges of oppression/marginalization.

Parents of LGBTQ Kids Fargo Moorhead

Connecting parents of kids who identify as transgender, gender expansive, lesbian, bisexual, gay, queer, or question sexual orientation/gender identity.

Pride Collective & Community Center

The Pride Collective & Community Center exists to create a sense of community and promote education and social activities to foster social and physical well-being and development of the LGBTQ community in the Red River Valley. During business hours, the Center is open for drop in support, activities and socialization. There is a movie library, board games and video games available. There is also a full library of books on a variety of topics available for check out.

Project RAI (Rainbows Are Inclusive)

Project R.A.I (Rainbows Are Inclusive)’s mission is to provide a safe environment for LGBTQ+ children and their supportive adults with inclusive, safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate programming.

Red River Rainbow Seniors

Red River Rainbow Seniors is an organization dedicated to providing advocacy, education, support & fun for the 50+ LGBTQ community in the Red River Valley.
