DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Public Radio presents the trio Flipside Percussion\, a Class Notes Concert\, hosted by Moorhead Public Schools Community Education. \n\n\n\n\nPlease join us for Minnesota Public Radio’s Class Notes Concert in Fargo Moorhead on April 1st\, at 7pm\, hosted by Moorhead Community Education for a lively and fun family evening! \nFlipside Percussion’s musical backgrounds include orchestral percussion\, jazz combos\, and rock drum sets. They present a wide range of musical styles with a focus and emphasis on improvisation utilizing the marimba\, vibraphone and drum sets. The trio will play original tunes composed by members of the ensemble. The trio also works together to improvise as an ensemble. \nStudents in the Fargo Moorhead public school system will have the opportunity to attend this evening community concert through the Learning Bank initiative. Learning Bank promotes\, encourages\, establishes\, and maintains coordinated educational programs among and between public and private elementary and secondary schools and other educational organizations\, institutions and agencies in the Fargo\, Moorhead\, West Fargo communities. Learning Bank is presently focused on delivering new and innovative approaches with quality arts experiences to each of the three school districts\, thereby reducing duplication and cost factors.

This program will visit different planets each month. Solar System Explorers will be able to fill in their passports along the way and earn their very own solar system explorers patch at the completion of their journey. Visit each planet and get a planet sticker for your passport. Fill in all the planets and you become an official Solar System Explorer! Each month will feature different planets to visit\, but we will also take a look at what is up in our sky for that month. \nTour 3 (Mar 28 & 29) – Up next\, the GAS GIANTS! Let’s see just what is so special about the largest planets in our Solar System! Why do they look the way they do? What are they made of? We will visit Jupiter\, Saturn\, Uranus\, & Neptune. \nRemaining Tour: \nTour 4 (April 25 & 26) – Last but not least\, we have the DWARF Planets! Pluto is one of the most well-known of the dwarf planets in our Solar System\, but there are several more! We can also check out the asteroid belt and some of the more interesting moons around other planets. \nIf you have successfully completed ALL FOUR TOURS\, you will be awarded the Solar System Explorer Certificate and badge.
