SUMMARY:Soldiers of the American Revolution
DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence. In celebration of these pivotal events\, the Fargo Public Library is proud to present “Soldiers of the American Revolution\,” a living history program hosted by Arn Kind\, who will come in the uniform of a soldier in George Washington’s Continental Army. He will share the events which gave birth to our great nation utilizing drama\, role-playing and living history experiences. Kind’s multi-media presentation will give participants an understanding of this turbulent time and make history come alive for all ages. Through realistic and colorful portrayals of the people who participated in these events and displays of maps\, posters\, clothing and artifacts\, Kind’s presentation takes audiences into the action of 1776. Volunteers from the audience have an opportunity to take on the role of soldiers in the Continental Army and will learn some of the rudiments of Von Steuben’s Drill Manual while handling wooden replicas of Revolutionary War muskets. DESCRIPTION:Littles and their grown-ups are invited to this station-based storytime session for little ones 18 months through 3 years\n\n\n\nTeeter Tots Storytime is a weekly storytime experience for those between the ages of 18 months to 3 years. This unique station-based storytime session is a simple and fun way to introduce your young\, energetic toddler to important early literacy skills that will help them succeed later in life. If your child is a little too advanced for our Baby Boost Storytime\, but not quite ready to join the “big kids” at Ready to Read\, this special storytime might be perfect for your family. \nDue to this program’s popularity\, we host Teeter Tots Storytime on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the summer months. Families are asked to please choose one session a week to allow other families to participate. Teeter Tots Storytimes is free and open to the public. No registration is required to participate. \nAbout Summer Boost at the WFPL\nSummer Teeter Tots sessions are part of this year’s Summer Boost program\, which inspires people of all ages to keep reading and learning during the summer months.
